I'm Tyler, and I started Pittsburgh Beef because buying great local beef shouldn't be harder than it needs to be. Too often customers are asked to understand hanging weight, estimate processing charges, and navigate a process they've never experienced before. Pittsburgh Beef is being built around great cattle, transparent pricing, an exceptional eating experience, and making the entire process simple for Pittsburgh-area families.

Common Questions

  • All-in means the price you see includes the beef and processing. There are no additional processing fees or surprise charges added later.

  • Your deposit reserves your spot in the Founding Harvest. It is applied toward your total balance.

  • Your remaining balance is due at harvest. We will contact you in advance to coordinate payment, cut selection, and delivery.

  • Plan for approximately 4–5 cubic feet for a Quarter, 8–10 cubic feet for a Half, and 16–20 cubic feet for a Whole. A standard chest freezer works well for a Quarter. A Half or Whole will need a dedicated upright or large chest freezer.

  • Cuts vary naturally by animal and your cutting preferences. We will guide you through the cut selection process.

  • Yes, any order can be split between households. One delivery location is included per purchase — coordinating the split between parties is up to you.

  • Western Pennsylvania. Our cattle are raised on local farms close to Pittsburgh.

  • Pittsburgh Beef hand-delivers every order. We deliver throughout the greater Pittsburgh area and Western Pennsylvania. No shipping, no freight — we bring it to you.

  • Hanging weight pricing requires customers to estimate processor fees and final packaged weight, making the true cost unclear until the end. We price all-in so you know exactly what you're paying from the start.

  • Our cattle are raised locally on Western Pennsylvania farms and fed to produce excellent flavor and tenderness. We select for eating quality — not to chase marketing labels.
